A take on the traditional #kurti with a V-neck and side ties. A beaded back detailing for that extra festive look <3

The fear of every first-time sewist
This particular project is very close to my heart because this was one of my first-ever big project with a sewing machine. I had tried out a few other designs such as face masks and was finally ready to make something bigger. I had this pretty expensive beige embroidered fabric lying around for a very long time and wanted to make something out of it. But like every first time sewist, I was fearful that I might ruin this beautiful fabric. But then I thought, "WHAT'S THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN?", I would either ruin by sewing or I would let it sit in my cupboard without any sole purpose. I finally pulled out the fabric and bought a lining and started out to self-draft the pattern.
I drafted a V-neck for the front neckline and my idea of the side ties turned out to be really pretty good, because it was the first time and I was skeptical about messing up the dimensions, I figured that the side ties would mask any error as it could be loosened or tightened as needed. The kurti's dimensions however ended up to be perfect and I was pretty chuffed about the whole thing!

The back neck affair
I had designed the back neck to contain a hole that could be tied with strings. It then occurred to me that I already had ties on the side of the kurti and the back neck would again be a repetition. I had these beautiful golden beads lying around and I had no idea why I got it. So, I stringed together the beads on the back of the neck for that extra festive look. The best part about this kutri was that I didn't need to hand hem the canvas sheet at the neckline as I had strategically placed it in between the main cloth and the lining, but what I hadn't expected was that to show-through my sheer fabric :( I guess placing it inside and hend-hemming it would've been a better option! Anyway, that was a learning through this project and I loved the whole look!

I was contemplating between the best way to pair it with a bottom! Comment and let me know if you have any ideas!
